FAQs
BOZO Deliveroo Driver Substitution FAQs cover everything you need to know about our services.
I have a Deliveroo rider account I no longer use. Can someone else use it?
Yes, someone else can use your Deliveroo rider account as long as they have the necessary working rights, documents, proof of address, a DBS certificate, and have not had a Deliveroo account terminated in the past.
Is it legal to have someone else use my account?
Yes, according to Deliveroo's terms, you are allowed to have a substitute use your account, provided they have the appropriate working rights.
Will I still have access to my account?
Yes, you can log in at any time using passkeys like your phone's face or thumb ID. However, you will only need to log in if a selfie verification is required.
Who is responsible for paying taxes on the rider's earnings?
The rider is responsible for paying taxes on their income, regardless of whether they are renting an account or if the account is in their name.
The earnings go into my bank account. What will HMRC say about this?
Even if the income is not yours, it's advisable to consult with an accountant if you have any concerns about tax implications.
What happens if the rider gets the account terminated?
We prioritize working with riders who depend on Deliveroo as a full-time job. Most riders need this job and are unlikely to misuse the account. However, if an account receives a warning, we require the rider to explain the situation. If the explanation is satisfactory, they can continue using the account. If not, we will remove them from the account and from BOZO. They will not be permitted to use another account.
When do I pay the rider?
You must pay the rider by 8 PM on Tuesday. Deliveroo typically pays out earnings between 12 PM and 6 PM.
What happens if the rider doesn't earn anything?
If a rider does not earn any income, we will reclaim the account and assign it to another rider if there is someone waiting.
Will there always be someone using my account?
There may be periods when the account is not in use, such as when a rider returns the account and we are waiting for the right replacement. We prefer to wait for the right rider rather than rush to fill the account just to generate income.
I know someone who has an unused account. Can I refer them?
Yes, you can refer someone who has an unused account. We offer a £60 referral fee for successful referrals. Even if you don't know them personally, you can still refer them. Just make sure they mention your referral when signing up, so we can credit you with the fee.
